Welcome to the Southwestern Michigan Tourist Council! We were founded in 1982 as a non-profit marketing organization to promote lodging and attractions in three counties forming the lower corner of the state. Travelers are drawn here to see natural attractions, such as dunes, miles of scenic Lake Michigan beach, rivers and parks with hiking trails and biking paths. Three major resort towns along the Lake offer charming shops, culture and entertainment. Whether you seek solitude or a group learning experience, come visit us. Each season offers beauty...from spring blossoms across acres of orchards, sun warming sugar-sand beaches, a bountiful harvest of colors and produce in autumn to skiing through the still winter snow. Three of us are here full-time to assist you with your travel plans.
Several part-time seasonal people help on various projects at the Tourist Council
and provide free samples of southwest Michigan fruits
and vegetables in season, at the New Buffalo Welcome Center on weekends. Just look for our little cottage with a wrap-around porch. We're here waiting to meet you. |
