The Berrien County Community Development Department oversees economic development, planning, solid waste management, transportation and resource recovery. The department works closely with community leaders and governments to coordinate their activities that deal with attracting and maintaining businesses within Berrien County through pooling resources. It is also the focal point for many projects that are multi-governmental. The Berrien County Community Development Department is the resource that the community looks to for the coordination of programs that are grant or loan eligible.

    Directions:
    From the east - I-94 to Paw Paw exit 60, M-40. North on M-40 to M-43, turn left/east to Bangor. City Hall is on the left/south side at 257 West Monroe/M-43.

    From the west - I-94 to I-196 north to exit 20, Phoenix Road. Turn left/south on Blue Star, 2 miles to M-43. Turn left/east on M-43, 10 miles to Bangor.

    The James White Library contains an immense and important collection of research materials - over 1.5 million materials in total - that constitutes an invaluable resource for the Southwest Michigan Community. Located on the campus of Andrews University, the James White Library includes the Center for the Architectural Resource Center, the Center for Adventist Research, the Music Materials Center, and a large collection of seminary materials, periodicals, media and microforms.
