Established in 1874, Andrews University has embraced its mission to educate students for service to society for over 130 years. Today, more than 3,000 students from nearly 100 countries continue this tradition of scholarship on our campus, and 1,700 more study at affiliate and extension programs worldwide. Andrews offers more than 180 degree programs and features a faculty of 280 professors, most of which hold terminal degrees. Located on the banks of the St. Joseph river in Berrien Springs, our 1600-acre campus houses 27 instructional buildings, three residence halls, four apartment complexes, an astronomy observatory, a produce and dairy farm, a 50,000-watt FM radio station, a performing arts center and an airpark. The Berrien County Community Development Department oversees economic development, planning, solid waste management, transportation and resource recovery. The department works closely with community leaders and governments to coordinate their activities that deal with attracting and maintaining businesses within Berrien County through pooling resources. It is also the focal point for many projects that are multi-governmental. The Berrien County Community Development Department is the resource that the community looks to for the coordination of programs that are grant or loan eligible.

The James White Library contains an immense and important collection of research materials - over 1.5 million materials in total - that constitutes an invaluable resource for the Southwest Michigan Community. Located on the campus of Andrews University, the James White Library includes the Center for the Architectural Resource Center, the Center for Adventist Research, the Music Materials Center, and a large collection of seminary materials, periodicals, media and microforms.
