Two Eclectic Musicians Perform at the Box Factory
Join Riversong Music Society as it presents Yvonne Blasy and Bev Smith at the Box Factory for the Arts
Opening Date: February 27, 2010
Operating Hours: 8pm
Event Description: Audiences will enjoy the eclectic blend of music including traditional, original and contemporary tunes on guitar, banjo, ukulele, fiddle, Native American flute and more.

Yvonne Blasy's folk-style original music finds its influences from an eclectic blend of genres, including old style cowboy songs, spirituals, folk, classical, world music and more. She plays guitar, Native American flute, keyboard and piano. Many of her inspirations as a song writer come from the natural ambience of the Great Lakes area where she resides, as well as the great southwestern United States. Her performances are graced with an occasional Native American flute interlude and a joke or two to add a little light humor.

Dowagiac-based Bev Smith has been a long time performer on the local and regional music scene. Currently a member of the Barn Owl String Band, based in Goshen, Indiana, Bev, a multi-instrumentalist, performs many styles including Americana, World Music, oldies, Broadway and originals. Recent varied appearances include Bev calling square dances at the Elkhart County museum, contributing Civil War songs with members of the Kalamazoo Folklife Organization, at the KVCC museum in Kalamazoo, and directing or performing at the Barn Swallow Jamboree in Cassopolis, Michigan.
