Event Description: Back by popular demand, a fun hands on exciting cooking camp for those who cannot stay out of the kitchen! Everyone will participate in making various aspects of their meals. In addition to general cooking techniques, the campers will be instructed on safe food handling and equipment safety, along with table etiquette. Campers will learn how to read a recipe, prepare and cook delicious and healthy dishes with emphasis on nutrition, and food science. All campers will take home a cook book with copies of the recipes which they create. Campers will have a great time going behind the scenes with local eateries in the St. Joseph area to see how their specialties are created! Campers will invite two guests to join them for lunch on Friday. Bring a sack lunch Monday Only.

6th Annual Krasl Art Center Concours on the Bluff
Display of 80 top-notch Brass Era, Classic, Vintage and Special Interest automobiles and trucks.

Event Description: Over 80 spectacular vehicles (dating from 1900 to 1974) will be invited to attend this annual event that serves as a fundraiser for the Krasl Art Center. Three "pass in review" events will be held in the afternoon with national auto authority F. Edward Lucas II servng as narrator. Family friendly, with reasonably priced food. Admission is $5 a person/$15 for a family. Twelve trophies will be awarded at the end of show. Cars and trucks will be displayed on grass in beautiful Lake Bluff Park in downtown St. Joseph.

Event Description: Father-son duo Rich and Brandon Ridenour perform all across America, bringing their innovative and authentic sound to old and new audiences alike. With father Rich on piano, and son Brandon on trumpet, the two make for an exciting team who explore and stretch the boundaries of their instruments. They have built formidable careers performing concerts of favorite piano and trumpet pieces ranging from classical masterworks to American ragtime, and jazz, with a few original compositions thrown in for good measure. House of David Echoes Versus Deep River Grinders

Event Description: The House of David Echoes will host their annual friends from Deep River Park, Hobart, Indiana for a match of 1858 "vintage" base ball at historic (1902) Eastman Field. Both clubs play the etiquette rules of 1858 and are sponsored by their respective historical sites. Usually a very spirited match that keeps the "cranks" (fans) attention as they watch historically how the game of base ball was played in pre-civil war America. A gentlemanly activity for exercise and comraderie that exhibits both athletics and history.

to Host Tall Ship Rendezvous

The tall ships are headed to South Haven for a rendezvous Thursday, August 19 through Sunday, August 22, from 10am-5pm each day. On returning from a festival in Green Bay, the Museum's tall ship Friends Good Will will lead three visiting ships into the harbor for four days of maritime celebration and excitement. Historical reenactments and presentations have been scheduled for the Michigan Maritime Museum campus and dockside tours, lead by ships' crews in appropriate period dress, will be conducted on each of the visiting ships. On Saturday, maritime musician Lee Murdock will be entertaining on the Museum campus. On Sunday, Great Lakes balladeer Carl Behrend takes the stage. Performances are scheduled for 1pm, 3pm and 5pm each day.

Advance admission tickets to the Tall Ship Rendezvous are available online only at the Museum's website www.MichiganMaritimeMuseum.org. Admission to the rendezvous is $15 for adults and $8 for children 12 and under. All fees include dockside tours on the visiting ships, planned presentations and entrance to all of the Museum's exhibits and attractions. Family memberships to the Museum are available for $50 and include all of the Rendezvous attractions plus the benefits of membership including a 15% discount on all merchandise at the Museum Store. Michigan Maritime Museum members that display their current membership cards will receive free admission to the event.

View the arrival of the ships from the South Haven pier heads as Friends Good Will leads a Parade of Sail on Wednesday, August 18 at 7:30pm (time is subject to change depending on the weather).

I-94 east to Exit 16 (Bridgman)
Turn right at bottom of exit ramp (Red Arrow Highway)
Go to Stop Light, turn right (Lake St./Shawnee Rd.)
Continue on Shawnee Road for about 12 miles to fairgrounds on the left

From Indianapolis (south) approximately 3 hours
Follow US 31 north to the US 31 Bypass, just south of South Bend, IN
Take the US 31 Bypass north into Michigan
Continue on US 31 Bypass to the end, Old US 31
Turn right toward Berrien Springs approximately 1 mile to entrance on right
