Haunted Historic Neighborhood Tours

Bear Park
Corner of State Street and Market
St. Joseph, MI 49085
Contact Name: Heritage Museum and Cultural Center
2699831191

Event Date:10/22/2017

Event Description:The Heritage Museum & Cultural Center and the History Center at Courthouse Square are teaming up to offer historical walking tours of St. Joseph this fall, for the fourth consecutive year. In October 2017, two separate tour programs will be presented in the City Cemetery and through the Old St. Joseph Neighborhood. Reservations are strongly advised; reserve a tour time by calling the Heritage Museum at (269) 983-1191. A $5 donation per person is requested to support the ongoing historical programs of both non-profit organizations. Haunted Historic Neighborhood Tours will be held on Sunday, October 22 beginning at 1:00pm. Houses in the Old St. Joseph Neighborhood date from the mid-19th to the mid-20th century and many of them have witnessed tragic and mysterious events over the last 160 years. For example, ship Captain Cornelius McNeil took his wife, Persilla, and their three children with him aboard the bark Sunshine in 1859. The ship capsized on Lake Erie during a storm and only Persilla survived. The house from which they left on their ill-fated voyage still stands on State Street—one of the oldest in St. Joe. At another home, the John F. Duncan House built in 1892, various people claim to have seen the ghost of a teenaged girl. Tour groups will gather at Bear Park, on the corner of State Street and Market Street. Tours are weather permitting; if necessary, this program may be moved to the rain back-up date of Sunday, October 29 at the same times.

Four Winds Casino

New Buffalo, MI 49117

8664946371

Event Date:11/10/2017

Event Description:With a string of #1 classics, including the most played song in radio history, You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin', the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame duo of Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield topped the charts for four decades. After Bobby's death in 2003, Bill Medley continued to perform to sold-out crowds before revisiting The Righteous Brothers, with Bucky Heard as his partner. Now, the concert experience features The Righteous Brothers' biggest hits – Lovin' Feelin', Soul & Inspiration, Unchained Melody, Rock and Roll Heaven, The Time of My Life and more. Bill Medley is truly one of the iconic figures in American music history. His instantly recognizable baritone voice has anchored some of the biggest recordings of all time. He's won a Grammy, an Oscar, a Golden Globe, and an American Music Award. Until Bobby's passing in 2003, The Righteous Brothers never stopped performing to packed crowds. During that period Bill also recorded the chart-topping duet with Jennifer Warnes, The Time of My Life, for the movie Dirty Dancing. It went on to sell over 32 million copies worldwide. Medley has also sung on the soundtracks or performed the theme songs for 33 movies and TV shows and, in 2014, released his memoir, The Time of My Life. Bucky Heard is an Alabama native and Auburn University alum. His reputation as a gutsy rock and roll singer, with an incredible vocal range, has garnered much critical praise and a legion of fans. He's shared the concert stage with legends like Andy Williams and Glen Campbell. Credited as being one of the hardest working and in-demand performers, Bucky has rocked his way across America with his 10-piece horn band, and also starred in numerous national production shows.

Event Date:01/12/2018

Event Description:At 36 years old Jonny Lang has already had a successful career for two decades. He released his first platinum record at 15. Lie to Me revealed a talent that transcended the crop of blues prodigies floating around in the late '90s. No flashy re-hasher of classic blues licks, even at that early age Lang was a fullblown artist with a style of his own. Also, setting Lang apart from the wunderkind crowd was a 15-yearold voice that sounded like a weathered soul shouter. Actual life experience was yet to come, and has been subsequently chronicled in a series of five albums. His latest album, Signs, will release September 8.
