Uncork hours of fun at Southwestern Michigan’s wineries

There are a few great wine regions in the world – and Southwestern Michigan is one of them. Lake Michigan tempers our climate, making our hillsides ideal for growing European grape varieties that our wine masters turn into liquid art.

Called the Napa Valley of the Midwest, Southwestern Michigan is home to more than a dozen wineries, many offering free tours and tastings of their award-winning vintages all four seasons. Most of our wineries are within a short drive of each other so you can visit three or four in a day. Or stop into the wine tasting rooms located in or near our resort towns – perfect places to unwind after playing on our beaches, shopping or golfing.

You’ll have a wonderful time exploring our wine country whether you are a connoisseur of fine vintages, want to learn how to confidently choose a bottle with dinner or how great wines are made. 

Take time to read more about each one so you can plan a relaxing road trip with friends. Or spend a romantic weekend (several of our lodgings offer special wine packages). Try a wine cooking class. Or uplift your spirits with the laughter, grape-stomping, music-filled fun of our wine festivals. (One must-attend celebration is our annual Lake Michigan Shore Wine Festival – held the third weekend of June on beautiful Weko Beach.)
