chill{CHILL OUT}

It's winter. But that's no reason to hibernate over the next few weeks. Come chill out in Southwest Michigan!

This is a festive season. Join our collective ohhs and ahhs as we light up the St. Joseph bluff with thousands of twinkling bulbs from early December to mid February. Marvel with us at the stoic silence of live mannequins in shop windows. Listen for the jingling of Santa's bells in holiday parades. Follow the buzz of chainsaws and the chipping of chisels as carvers transform dozens of ice blocks into award-winning figures. Anticipate the popping of corks at our wine festivals ... the mmms and ha-ha-hots! on our chili tour ... and the thunderous applause at our musical and theater performances.

Any time you visit, you'll see why our wintry days are like snowflakes; no two are alike. You'll shriek with joy as you shove off down snowy hills on sleds, tubes or toboggans. Be invigorated by the swish-swish of cross-country or downhill skis on lit nature preserve trails and resort slopes ... by the rhythmic slice of skates on outdoor ice rinks ... or the rumble of a snowmobile as it pounces across fields. But what will truly leave you awestruck, guaranteed, is the snap-and-crackle of Nature's icy artwork as it continually reinvents itself along our Lake Michigan sunset coast. And don't be in a rush to leave. We'll have a room ready for you at one of our many lodgings. Because tomorrow there are more things to enjoy ... even if it's simply curling up with a book by the fire.
