Indie Fest 18 featuring Switchback, The Accidentals, and The Hunts

2755 E Napier Avenue
Benton Harbor, MI 49022
Contact Name: The Mendel Center at
2699278700

Event Date:10/20/2018

Event Description:This exclusive, all-ages Mendel Center event features live music from three headline bands, Michigan craft beers and wine, mouth-watering variety from the area’s best food trucks, and wares from local artisans – all at INDIE FEST 18! ~~ As seen on PBS, SWITCHBACK’s music is energetic, soulful, and versatile, combining elements of Americana-country, rock, and Celtic. Music Connection Magazine said: "The words ‘American Roots & Celtic Soul’ only begin to describe this unusual act, whose vocal prowess is as pure as it is unique. There is no denying the stunning vocal blends that are achieved by this duo." --- THE ACCIDENTALS have affirmed their place among contemporary music’s most original and adventurous new bands. This Michigan-based band has crafted a genre all their own, fueled by their uniquely limitless approach to musicality and songcraft. “Musically, their songs sift together folk, bluegrass, alt-rock, and even classical music.” 10 Artists to Watch in 2017 – Yahoo Music --- Known for their harmony-laced take on alt-folk, THE HUNTS are seven siblings from Chesapeake Virginia, who’ve been playing music together almost their entire lives. That unified approach infuses their music with an irresistible richness of spirit. Their songs that reveal their sophisticated sense of melody and undeniably dreamy innocence while capturing heartache and wonder with a wide-eyed but wistful elegance. Event Description:An event presented by Islay’s (I-La) Barrel and hosted by Journeyman Distillery, it's the 2nd Annual Islay's Barrel Brew Fest with Journeyman & Friends! We are truly humbled by the interest and commitments from the brewing industry. 100% of the ticket sales go to Islay’s Barrel, a 501c3 nonprofit organization with a mission to extend summer program opportunities to South West Michigan children. Dablon Vineyards Hosts Live Music by Marty Miles

Dablon Vineyards and Winery

Baroda, MI 49101
Contact Name: Dablon Vineyards and Winery
2694222846

Event Date:11/11/2018

Event Description:With a serious nod to the 60’s folk/rock revolution and sensitivity to current trends, the music of Indiana artist Marty Miles is simultaneously divergent and classic. Guided by his smooth vocals and lyric songwriting, listeners can expect a musical journey through the human condition – the question of disenchantment, the crossroads of doubt, a point of faith, a moment of whimsy, a tenuous hope.   Marty Miles is much more than your basic singer, guitarist, and songwriter type. A consummate entertainer - a modern troubadour in the purest sense – he pulls you in. It’s not uncommon for the audience to become a part of the show. And, whether he’s performing solo, with his acoustic trio or full electric band, expect to hear music from his most recent CD, Folk/Rock Adventures (available on iTunes & CD Baby) and his previous albums, seamlessly woven with smart covers of likely and unlikely suspects.

Event Description:The Twin City Players (TCP) announces the second production of its 2018-2019 Mainstage Season, An Act of the Imagination by Bernard Slade. This masterful suspense tale involves a successful mystery writer whose latest work has strangely turned into a romance, a vivid and adulterous romance. His son, his second wife, and his editor marvel at the truthfulness of the work, remarkable since it is inconceivable that he could ever have had such an affair. Enter a woman, who is intent on blackmail and whose story is foolproof and airtight. It appears that Arthur has been trysting away from home. Death stalks: the other woman disappears and evidence incriminates Arthur in her murder. There is cunning, deceit and ingenious plotting. A sophisticated whodunit! Tickets are $12 & $15 plus a $1 fee per ticket. Group rates are also available. All seats reserved. Purchase tickets online at twincityplayers.org or through the TCP box office at 269-429-0400. Performances are October 26 - November 11, 2018, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 pm and Sundays at 2 pm. Performances take place at the TCP Playhouse, 600 W. Glenlord Road, St. Joseph. The show is directed by Carol Sizer. The cast includes Lloyd Bolick, Christine Aranyos, Jason Oliver Cope, William Klein, Aly Richards, Sarah Gill Simmons, and Beth Sekellick. Assisting the Director are Production Manager Suzanne Thursby and Assistant Director/Stage Manager Jacob Holmes. Opening Night Afterglow Reception On opening night patrons are invited to join the cast and crew after the show for an Afterglow reception featuring refreshments generously provided by Afterglow partners, Lemon Creek Winery and Bit of Swiss Pastry Shoppe.
